A few years ago, two of us were sitting in a vet's office hearing the same thing thousands of dog owners hear every year: "Surgery is your only option."

Between us, we had two dogs with CCL tears. Two quotes north of $5,000 each. And a lot of questions our vets didn't seem interested in answering.

So we started digging. We read the studies. We joined the forums. We talked to rehab specialists, orthopedic researchers, and hundreds of dog owners who had quietly found another way.

What we discovered surprised us, but probably shouldn't have.

Conservative management for canine CCL injuries isn't some fringe idea. Research going back decades found that the majority of dogs treated without surgery achieved good functional outcomes. More recently, peer-reviewed studies demonstrated that functional stifle orthotics, braces designed to reduce joint instability, produced statistically significant improvements in weight bearing and mobility in dogs with CCL insufficiency.

The science was there. The path was there. Nobody had just made it easy to access.

That's why we built Stabilipaw.
